I recently stumbled upon this non-dairy, soy-free milk that is surprisingly very delicious. It's called Silk Vanilla Protein Nutmilk. (photo below by Silk.com)
I buy my groceries online, and a few weeks ago, I accidentally ordered this milk and was surprised how great it tastes.
Silk Protein Nutmilk comes in three blends: Plain (2 grams of sugar), Vanilla, and Chocolate. I've only tried the Vanilla, so far. From what I've observed, it has a creamy, slightly foamy consistency and a sweet flavor that tastes like a healthy milkshake.
Here is the ingredient label: (photo below by silk.com)
INGREDIENTS: ALMONDMILK (FILTERED WATER, ALMONDS), CASHEWMILK (FILTERED WATER, CASHEWS), PEA PROTEIN, HIGH OLEIC SUNFLOWER OIL, CANE SUGAR, CONTAINS 2% OR LESS OF: SEA SALT, NATURAL FLAVOR, CALCIUM CARBONATE, SUNFLOWER LECITHIN, GELLAN GUM, VITAMIN D2, ASCORBIC ACID AND VITAMIN E ACETATE (ANTIOXIDANTS).
As you can see above, this milk has 10 grams of protein per 1 cup. Note this is pea protein, which absorbs and digests quickly (better than whey protein). The sweet flavor is due to the 6 grams of sugar.
Obviously, this milk contains nuts and should be avoided by individuals with nut allergies.
I will continue drinking this protein and highly recommend it to anyone trying to gain muscle, get fit, or just live a healthier lifestyle.
